One of the biggest complaints in the alternative media is that whenever an historic event takes place, the mainstream media refuses to cover it. But as Lisa Guliani showed last week (The Truth About the Alternative Media), there has been a deliberate, complete news blackout by some of the largest “alternative” news providers and radio show hosts on the Internet. Worse, these “containment” blackout sites have a history of ignoring monumental events.

To better illustrate this point, allow me to use an analogy. Pretend there’s an upstart football league – the ZFL – that stood in direct opposition to the corporate-oriented NFL. The only problem is: the ZFL is seen by most people (as well as the major TV networks and newspapers) as “kooky” or “radical.” But even though there’s a blackout from the “Big Boys,” about 325 blogs, websites, and micro radio shows popped-up to report on the ZFL. Their coverage isn’t vast, but it’s better than nothing. Nonetheless, the ZFL continues its football season year-after-year, and despite some wonderful players and teams that are much better than those in the NFL, it rarely gets any mainstream news coverage.

Finally, after a few years, CBS decides to broadcast the ZFL’s Super Bowl. It’s not in prime-time, but still, a major step forward. A great deal of excitement results from this development, and the ZFL Super Bowl on CBS turns out to be fantastic … undoubtedly an historic event.

The morning after this kick-ass game on CBS, fans start scouring all 325 of the ZFL-related websites, blogs, and radio shows to get some coverage of the event.

But guess what they find. Nothing - virtually no coverage whatsoever from the supposed hard-core ZFL “truth” sites! In fact, only seven outlets of 325 gave the Super Bowl any coverage at all! That’s only 2% of the entire ZFL media.

2%! The other 98% deliberately refused to cover their biggest event of all-time (which happened to be on CBS). What makes this situation even more appalling is that the 98% who didn’t cover the event were the same ones who continually bitched and complained that the mainstream news never covered big events in the ZFL. The hypocrisy was astounding.

Now here they had their chance – a major breakthrough – and the alternative ZFL sites orchestrated a complete news blackout. On top of that, these same betrayers refused to cover the ZFL’s all-star game earlier that year, along with their playoffs.

Pretty soon, ZFL fans started saying, “What the hell good are these guys if they refuse to cover major events, and instead black them out – just like the mainstream media? Hell, even Sports Illustrated wrote a brief article about the all-star game."

Is it becoming clear what’s going on here? If we replace the ZFL with the alternative media, we realize that these groups and individuals are failing and betraying us horribly.

Of the 347 alternative media sites, political forums, and radio shows that Lisa Guliani contacted with information about the Scholars for 9-11 Truth appearing on George Noory’s Coast-to-Coast AM radio show, only seven of them reported on it. They are:

That means only 2% of the entire alternative media covered this historic event. Every other entity blacked it out – just like the mainstream media! Think about that.

Now I can understand why the “liberal” alternative media losers didn’t cover this event, because they’ve refused to cover 9-11 truth from day one, and instead have chosen to be boot-licking dogs to the neo-cons and Bush administration. These are sites like:

Yet these sites and shows gave the Scholars for 9-11 Truth zero coverage and promotion.

None.

Furthermore, how much coverage did Alex Jones, Jeff Rense, Mike Rivero, Mike Ruppert, Greg Szymanski, The Power Hour, Jack Blood, and 9-11 Truth.org give to the OKC Tenth Anniversary Day of Truth convergence in April, 2005?

None.

How much coverage and promotion did Alex Jones, Jeff Rense, Mike Rivero, Mike Ruppert, Greg Szymanski, The Power Hour, Jack Blood, and 9-11 Truth.org give to the 9-11 Ground Zero 4th anniversary rally where the WORLD TRADE CENTER CONTROLLED DEMOLITION was front and center?

None.

Lastly, how much coverage and promotion did Alex Jones, Jeff Rense, Mike Rivero, Mike Ruppert, Greg Szymanski, The Power Hour, Jack Blood, and 9-11 Truth.org give to the Washington, DC Truth Convergence in July, 2005; or the huge Washington DC anti-war rally on September 24, 2005 where 250,000-300,000 protesters surrounded the White House on all sides?

None.

These were all HUGE, historic events, and Alex Jones, Jeff Rense, Mike Rivero, Mike Ruppert, Greg Szymanski, The Power Hour, Jack Blood, and 9-11 Truth.org didn’t cover any of them.

None.

Yet WING TV gave vast promotion and coverage to each and every one of these events. Doesn’t this tell you something?

So ask yourself: what is the purpose of all these above-listed sites if they’re not going to cover or promote historic activist events where people actually rise up and DO SOMETHING? Instead, all they’re doing is blacking them out, just like their counterparts in the mainstream media.

At what point is this movement going to wake up and realize that their supposed “leaders” are betraying them so horribly that it’s a crime? Why do you think we’re not making any more in-roads and progress? It’s because the above-listed individuals have been put in place to be nothing more than a CONTAINMENT operation that is supposed to thwart any organization and progress. Sure, they’ll give you information (mamby-pamby “awareness”), but that’s it. And damn it, we need more than just “awareness” right now.

We need ACTION! But Alex Jones, Jeff Rense, Mike Rivero, Mike Ruppert, Greg Szymanski, The Power Hour, Jack Blood, and 9-11 Truth.org refuse to cover these historic events, they refuse to promote activism, and they refuse to rally people together. All they keep saying is: “We need to fight the New World Order.”

Well, how do we fight the NWO? By talking about it? Is that all we want to do? Alex Jones and Jeff Rense have been “talking” for a dozen years now, and what has changed? Plus, if we jump ahead five years, they’re still going to be doing the same damned thing. Jones will be on his “buy my video, buy my video” schtick trying to make even bigger piles of money, while Rense will still be hawking Bigfoot and ghosts. And not a damned thing will be any different.

Is that what you want, because these guys aren’t about to change in the least.

So, you have to ask yourself: what is their motivation? Why are they in the alternative media? If it’s not to organize and become involved in direct activism, then why are they here? Well, the conspiracy has now been exposed, for Jones, Rense, GCN, and their ilk have two primary objectives:

          1) Keep the patriot/9-11 truth movement CONTAINED (i.e. no progress, only talk with no              action)
          2) They want your money. Look at how much effort they exert on hard-sell advertising,              commercials, infomercials, fundraisers, begging, banners, archive payments, and              subscriptions for their pay-per-view sites.

They sure as hell spend a lot of time trying to get YOUR money, don’t they? It almost makes you think that’s one of their primary purposes for being around. The government already steals a huge chunk of change from you via taxation, and then bozos like Alex Jones spend half their show trying to mug you for the rest. I mean, since Alex Jones refuses to cover these historic events, just think if all the energy he expended on getting YOUR money was spent instead on promoting action. And that goes for all the rest of them too. We could literally change the world.

But they refuse to organize against our enemies. Do you know why? Because they ARE the enemy. When are you going to accept this fact?

At any rate, to show that we are fair, we’re going to give Alex Jones, Jeff Rense, Mike Rivero, Mike Ruppert, Greg Szymanski, The Power Hour, Jack Blood, and 9-11 Truth.org a final chance to redeem themselves. On September 11, 2006, a huge fifth anniversary rally is going to be held at the emotional epicenter of 9-11 … Ground Zero in New York City. Called 9-11: A Day of Unity, what this event is proposing is that despite the differences between various members of the alternative media, we can all agree on one thing: the government lied to us about 9-11.

So, we’re calling on each and every member of the alternative media, including Alex Jones, Jeff Rense, Mike Rivero, Mike Ruppert, Greg Szymanski, The Power Hour, Jack Blood, and 9-11 Truth.org to become a part of this event. If they’re not able to personally attend, we call on them to at least promote it so that each and every person in America that is sick and tired of the government’s lies can find out about it and show their outrage.

It’s time to find out who’s for real, and who’s a poseur. After all, what is at stake here is the future of America.
