The French have a phrase – fin de siecle – meaning “the end of an era” which takes place as a century comes to a close. Other associated definitions include “a time of decadence and self-doubt” and “confusion, fatalism, and weariness.”
Could the United States of America be experiencing its own fin de siecle right now as our federal deficit surges out-of-control, an obscenely over-bloated war rages in Iraq (and possibly Iran), and a bumbling, incompetent president leads us along a road to ruin?
New articles appear on a weekly basis predicting “the Chinese century,” while waiting in the wings to facilitate the final dagger through our hearts are New World Order evil-doers Bill and Hillary Clinton (long-time associates of the Bush crime family). And as we all know, no two other clans have been more instrumental in propping-up the Chinese economic revolution than the Bushes and Clintons.
Are we witnessing the downfall of what could be the last great sole superpower in the world? If so, could China be paving the way for a multi-world order where geographic “unions” take the place of sprawling empires?
If this scenario is proven true, the citizens of America better be prepared for a far different world than the one they’re accustomed to, because once the bottom drops and this “era” is over, I seriously doubt if we’ll ever recapture the type of lifestyle and living standards we’ve known for the past half-century.
