Connecting the Dots

Greg Szymanski's Lies and Fakery
by Victor Thorn & Lisa Guliani

When it comes to journalistic ethics – especially in regard to the alternative media which is supposedly at the forefront of the “truth” movement – honesty must be the utmost consideration. If it isn’t, then there will be nothing which differentiates us from the sickeningly repulsive corporate media.

This matter of conduct (being a man of one’s word) is why we are increasingly troubled by the actions of newcomer Greg Szymanski. As we reported on February 23, 2006 Szymanski faked an interview with Dr. Morgan Reynolds where he never actually interviewed him, but instead lifted quotes from a previously written article (not even penned by him), and then made-up what appeared to be a real interview. But he never even spoke to Reynolds for this supposed “interview.” The whole thing was faked.

Worse, on Tuesday, February 28th, Szymanski was asked about this fake interview by Mr. Bill Adams of The Alaska Intel Report, and he lied once again by saying that it was simply a “mix-up” where he got wrong information. But this explanation is nothing more than candy-coating a blatant lie, for here is how Morgan Reynolds described the situation:

“In June [2005] Syzmanski made up a fake interview with me by taking sentences from my           June 9 article, albeit lifted accurately, written as if in conversation while claiming that he           interviewed me by telephone from my A&M office, a bald lie. That caused some problems           because "unfriendlies" claimed I lied about having an A&M office rather than writer           Syzmanski. He pursued me and apologized privately, but not publicly. He claimed credit for           getting the mainstream to look at my article. So I understand that his stuff cannot be relied on           without corroboration elsewhere.”

Somebody is obviously lying, and since Morgan Reynolds has been an unimpeachable source, while Szymanski has a history of unscrupulous behavior, we know where to point the finger. Plus, Reynolds actually stated that Dr. Szymanski lied about the interview. [Szymanski's response during his February 28, 2006 broadcast is located at the end of this article.] Now ask yourself: does this sound like a simple “mix-up” where he didn’t get the proper information? No, it doesn’t; because Reynolds had to actually track Szymanski down to get an apology. If Szymanski had pulled such a low-life stunt at your local newspaper, at Forbes magazine, or the New York Times, he’d be fired on the spot. Look at the recent scandals with Jayson Blair and Stephen Glass. They were both humiliatingly fired for making stuff up (i.e. being dishonest). Szymanski has utterly and completely discredited himself, and we're here to say that he should be fired from every venue that currently employs him.

If the mainstream media fires writers for similar egregious acts, how can we in the alternative media not do the same? We always complain that the corporate media has no morals, so if Szymanski is allowed to continue polluting the “truth” movement with his deceit, that makes us even WORSE than they are! Think about that point for a moment. Szymanski is a liar and a fake, and if he’s allowed to continue being in our ranks, then he’s dragged us to even lower depths than the corporate whores. Is that what you want?

But Szymanski’s concocted interview isn’t the only occasion when he’s discredited the alternative media. Last year he ran an article which proclaimed: President Indicted. It didn’t say “potentially indicted,” “possibly indicted,” or “could be indicted in the future,” but INDICTED as if had already happened. The major, glaring error with this yellow journalism is that Bush & Cheney weren’t indicted at the time, they haven’t been indicted since, and they’re not going to be indicted within the next month.

His story was 100% false, yet where is his public retraction? Furthermore, Szymanski is copy-catting his information (a habit that he seems very prone to) from known disinformation agents such as Tom Flocco, Sherman Skolnick, Tom Heneghen, and Stew Webb. They were the source of this nonsense, and Szymanski published it without zero verification.

REPEAT: Bush & Cheney have not been indicted.

Szymanski also put out a false story about the Chicago Subway MI-5 shooting. Again, the major problem is: it never happened. It was another hoax leveled by Flocco & his disinfo agents. Inexcusably, Szymanski never admitted his error publicly, nor did he make a public retraction. The entire story was fabricated, and Szymanski perpetuated the hoax. It is for this reason that the alternative media gets such a bad name.

Even more incredibly, Szymanski missed one of the major stories of 2005 during the fourth anniversary of 9-11. Instead of covering the rally at Ground Zero where protestors held huge banners declaring “9-11 WORLD TRADE CENTER CONTROLLED DEMOLITION” and “BUSH REGIME ENGINEERED 9-11,” Szymanski instead wrote about known gatekeepers such as Nicholas Levis who did everything in their power to draw truth-seekers AWAY from the emotional epicenter of 9-11, which is Ground Zero. On top of that, Szymanski gave zero coverage to the recent Scholars for 9-11 Truth appearance on George Noory’s Coast-to-Coast AM. If this guy is supposedly on the cutting edge, how can he be missing so many huge stories?

The big question is: why? I even spoke with Szymanski at both Ground Zero and at the UN during the fourth anniversary of 9-11, and he stood only inches away from the real patriots. Yet he gave his attention to the Gatekeepers. Even the Village Voice ran a huge story on the Ground Zero rally; yet Szymanski didn’t mention a word. Such a decision wasn’t merely an oversight; Szymanski was deliberately shifting focus away from the real story onto a red herring (the Gatekeepers). Again, why?

Then, of course, we have another major disinformation scam on Greg Szymanski’s part: the IMMINENT nuclear attack on Texas City, Texas. His headline didn’t read “possible,” “potential,” “likely,” or “sometime in the future,” – and the article even said that this attack would happen within “the next nine days.” That would make it February 3, 2006. But guess what. There was no nuclear attack on Texas City, Texas (or anywhere else in America for that matter).

From day one, we here at WING TV said this was a hoax, and it was - a 100% hoax. How did we know? Because the information came from a crackpot named “Captain Eric May” who leads what he calls “The Ghost Troops.”

The Ghost Troops! They sound like something that should be on the front of a cereal box for eight-year old children.

And why did Captain May select Texas City, Texas as the location of the attack? Get this – here was his cockamamie reasoning. Because the 1995 state-sponsored terror attacks happened in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and one of the 2001 attacks was in New York City, New York. Do you get it? Captain May deduced that a 2006 attack would occur in Texas City, Texas because the city and the state name were the same! Do you get it? What a joke. Plus, May also arrived at his prediction because, according to him, he “broke the Bush Cabal’s complicated Illuminati embedded code.”

Now, anyone who isn’t a complete horse’s ass would have known this is Crackpot Rubbish 101 … everyone except Greg Szymanski. This sucker actually ran with the story, and then became a total laughing-stock when the nuclear attack didn’t happen. Worse, The Galveston County Daily News made a mockery of the entire truth movement by writing an article about these lame-brains. Here are some of the quotes from that article:

          - There are no credible or corroborated threats to the area
          - Based on what we know, we are not aware that this (report) had any basis in fact
          - Anyone indicating anything other than training is seriously misinformed

Y’see, Syzmanski didn’t only embarrass himself horribly, he brought ridicule on the entire alternative media with his shoddy journalism. Regrettably, sensationalism seems to be Szymanski’s forte. Take for example some of his recent headlines:

          - Federal Whistleblower Claims Chicago Grand Jury Indicted Bush and Others
          - Dungeon Vatican Rituals at Satan’s Altar Was How Joanna, Born into the Illuminati, Spent             Her Childhood Days
          - Sold as a Child Sacrifice to the Illuminati Cult, Victim Survives Ritualistic Drowning to Tell             Her Story
          - Former Cleveland Mayor Reported Flight 93 Landed at Cleveland Airport on 9/11

As stated in a previous article, if we were the editors of The National Enquirer we wouldn't have even hired Szymanski - that's how sensationalic he is. We’re not the only ones with this opinion. On a recent radio show, Eric Hufschmid seriously questioned the veracity of Szymanski’s information, his lack of credible sources, and how it seems he’s the only one in the world who’s able to “land” these stories (just like Flocco, Skolnick, Webb, etc). Plus, the story about Flight 93 landing in Cleveland is a pure red herring, because if Szymanski would have taken the time to read Phantom Flight 93: The Shanksville-Flight 93 Hoax he would have realized that Flight 93 (or something purporting to be Flight 93) was actually shot down over Indian Lake, Pa., and crash landed in New Baltimore, Pa. So why would he divert people in the wrong direction with this bogus Cleveland story?

In addition, a very well-known researcher, writer, radio announcer, and long-standing member of the patriot movement who’s been around for over twenty years recently said that we should be very wary of people who “just suddenly pop up” overnight in the alternative media, and then seem to be everywhere. This individual added that he’s seen them come, and he’s seen them go, and they’re always bad news.

So, we have to ask ourselves: where did Szymanski come from, and how did he make it onto so many outlets, especially known disinfo sites like GCN & Jeff Rense?

Lastly, in the sake of fairness, we both e-mailed Greg Szymanski on three different occasions to ask him for his side of the story, but thus far he has failed to reply. But there is one thing we guarantee: ignoring us doesn’t make us go away, because until Szymanski comes clean about his deplorable fake interview, and until he makes retractions for his bogus, sensationalistic stories, we’re going to keep holding his feet to the fire.

If you want to tolerate liars and fakes in the alternative media, that’s your prerogative; but we at WING TV absolutely refuse to.

Szymanski's "Explanation" of the FAKE Morgan Reynolds Interview - February 28, 2006

Bill Adams: One of the questions that I have before I send any money to anything is about the Morgan Reynolds interview question ... because I saw the article on their website (WING TV) and I listen to your show, enjoy your show.

Szymanski (interrupting Bill): Oh, they question that. Yeah. I've never, never really had to ... I talked to Morgan - it was a mix-up between certain things that - when I first interviewed him all the facts and things were correct. Someone had contacted him, gave me the information that he was at a school and I wrote down that he said this from a certain school. And uh, basically, he was not at that school and got the wrong information given to me - and uh, then I apologized to him for that and basically did a couple stories after that and had him on my show a couple times.
