On December 1, 2005, at the Peacemaker Awards dinner held at the Renaissance Hotel in Dallas, Texas, Cindy Sheehan received the Phoenix Award for her contributions to the anti-war movement. Following this event, political activist Dave Berrera (pictured) handed her a copy of BYU physics professor Steven E. Jones’ report on the controlled demolition of the World Trade Center towers. We feel this is a vitally important step, because as we’ve asked numerous times on WING TV: where are the Democrats in regard to 9-11? Why aren’t they speaking out about how the government’s official story is blatant LIE? Well, with Dave Berrera’s gesture, the Democrats no longer have an excuse, for the symbolic leader of their movement now has first-hand knowledge of this atrocious crime in her very hands; and it comes not from a 'conspiracy theorist,' but from an unimpeachable source - Professor Jones. Below are Dave Berrera’s thoughts on what led him to this event, and why it’s so important that each and every one of us become actual ACTIVISTS in this movement. (by Victor Thorn)
=== Answering JFK's Call by Dave Berrera ===
When I was just a little boy one of my first vivid memories was when someone pulled up our family’s JFK FOR PRESIDENT sign that was in our front yard and replaced it with a FOR SALE sign. Being a youngster, I thought that my parents would have to sell our home because my Mom and Dad planned to vote for Kennedy! I recall asking my father, “Daddy will we have to sell our house because you and Mommy are going to vote for Kennedy?” My father said, “No son, don’t worry; that won’t happen.” He then said something about how he thought Kennedy would be a good leader because he was a war veteran.
I remember how happy my parent’s were when Kennedy won the election. Even to this day I can still recall seeing the newly sworn-in president on TV giving his famous inaugural address and saying, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country.”
However, in less than three years, the last great American president was gunned down in my hometown. Since JFK’s death, our nation has been tarnished by one scandal after another: the Gulf of Tonkin, the USS Liberty, Watergate, the Franklin Cover Up, Kuwaiti babies killed in incubators, and the Lewinski Affair. Then, the worst scandal in American history: 9-11.
On September 11, 2001 hell’s reign came crashing down on our nation. I was in shock and awe as I watched the Twin Towers explode to the ground. My thoughts immediately went to my sister because she is an employee of Cantor Fitzgerald. Nearly 700 of her fellow co-workers were murdered in the attack. My sister told me that the Dallas office was in telecommunications with the New York office on that fateful day. She said she heard the desperate cries of her co-workers until the very end.
I came home that day just in time to watch the CBS evening news. Dan Rather was showing a tape of a third building that came down. He said something to the effect that it looked liked a controlled demolition. I came up out of my chair and said, “NO, THAT WAS A CONTROLLED DEMOLITION!” Several months passed and I just knew that there would be some breaking news about building 7, but there wasn’t any news in the mainstream media. By the time the Iraq War started I smelled a big rat. I turned away from the mainstream media and started getting my information from the internet. That’s when I learned about PNAC and all the true evildoers behind 9-11. I became outraged and thought about what JFK said. What can I do for my country? The answer was simple: spread the word.
So, during the 2004 presidential election I was elected as a delegate to the Texas State Democratic Convention in Houston, Texas. While there, I spread the word about PNAC and 9-11 to scores of fellow delegates. Only about 20% of the delegates that I spoke with knew anything about PNAC and 9-11. I was shocked because I thought that the people who were elected as delegates would be more informed. Boy was I wrong.
I then knew that my mission wasn’t accomplished. Next stop: Crawford, Texas for the showing of Fahrenheit 911. I passed out around a hundred flyers at the event, and was also interviewed by an Asian news channel. Later that summer I had the opportunity to appear on the Worker’s Beat radio talk show on KNON FM in Dallas, and spread the word once again.
Then came the heartbreak of another stolen election. After some soul searching, that’s when I realized that I MUST continue to speak truth to power. On the 10th anniversary of the OKC bombing I met Victor and Lisa. I felt re-energized.
On August 27th 2005, I attended the Camp Casey rally at Crawford. While at Camp Casey I was encouraged by the number of people who knew about the controlled demolition of the Towers. But did the person who matters most know? Did Cindy Sheehan know? I didn’t get the chance to speak with Cindy that day because she was mobbed by reporters.
But my opportunity finally came on December 1, 2005 at the Dallas Peacemakers Awards. There, I had the chance to talk with Cindy for only a half minute. I told her that I was proud of her for speaking the truth about the war, and then said to her, “You know they lied about the war. Did you know that they LIED about 9-11 too?” Then I handed her a copy of Professor Steven E. Jones’ report and asked her to please read it. I can only hope and pray that she does.
MANKIND MUST PUT AN END TO WAR, OR WAR
WILL PUT AN END TO MANKIND.
